Welcome Friends

 

This tutorial was written by me on January 20, 2016, using my own ideas. Any resemblance to others is coincidental and accidental. This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of psp and is written in PSPX6.

 

 

Supplies:

 

“Mouse In Teacup” tube by Alicia Bel – This tube was purchased before The PSP Project closed and I am not sure where Ms. Bel is selling tubes at now. If oyu don’t have this tube, please use a suitable replacement

Scrap papers of choice to match tube_The ones I used are from Bel Vidotti’s FTU scrap kit, “Soulmate”. However, Bel Vidotti’s kits are no longer available. Again, use a suitable replacement.

Abbreviations:
EC = Eye Candy
GG = Gradient Glow
DS = Drop Shadow
C/P = Copy and Paste
FF = Flood Fill
ANL = Add New Layer
AS = Animation Shop

When working with templates, always Shift+D to duplicate, close original, then on each layer, select with magic wand (or Select All, Float, De-float), ANL, close/delete the original, do steps required in tutorial, select none

Eye Candy 4000_Gradient Glow

Abbreviations:

EC = Eye Candy

GG = Gradient Glow

DS = Drop Shadow

C/P = Copy and Paste

FF = Flood Fill

ANL = Add New Layer

AS = Animation Shop

Open blank 600x600 canvas

Add new layer_FF with color of choice (red tag I used #8b0106…Green tag I used #2b9542)

Apply mask

C/P Frame 01

Select inside the left row of squares_expand by 5

C/P the half tube_position as desired_Promote to layer_Select none

Repeat for the other 2 rows, changing the parts of the tube that shows

Merge tube layers together

Select all openings_expand by 5

ANL below frame_C/P paper 02 into selection_select none

Change blend mode of tube layer to Luminance Legancy and lower opacity to about 40

C/P the following elements, duplicating, mirroring, rotating, re-sizing as needed:

Butterfly 02

Charm

Envelope 01

Envelope 02

Feather

Flower 01

Flower 05

Flower 08

Flower 09

Leaves 02

Note Paper

Ribbon 02

Wire 02

C/P full tube (for red tag, I used the black outfit)

Using your Change to Target tool, set foreground to #8b0106_click around edges of the elements you would like colored, coloring as much or as little as you like *This kit’s TOU gives permission for re-coloring. Please be sure the kit you use allows this. If not, simply skip this step*

Add all correct copyright/license information

Add name_Loki Cola_100_Black

EC 4000_GG_3_25_100_use either the red or the green depending on color of your tag

Sharpen more

DS layers as follows:

Full tube_0_0_50_45_Black

Elements_0_0_100_10_Black

Frame_same as elements but apply 3 times

Name_2_-5_50_5_Black

~*~*~*Optional: I didn’t like the frame being so huge, so I re-sized it:

Close off full tube, mask, white background

Merge all other layers visible

Re-open other layers

Using your deform tool (shift+D) pull on nodes until the back is the size you like

Repeat sizing for mask if needed~*~*~*

Crop to desired size

Save!!

FTU Scrap Kit - FriendshipCollection - Tania Mendes Taggers by the very talented Bel Vidotti -

Font of choice – I used Before the Rain

Mask of choice – I chose Becky_mask009

C/P - Copy and Paste

DS - Dropshadow

In psp, open a new image 650x650

Open Frame 02 – C/P as new layer – resize and sharpen

Using magic wand, click inside frame – Selections_Modify_Expand_3

C/P image of choice as a new layer below frame – position to your liking –

In the layer palette – right click image layer_Promote Selection To Layer – De-select

Delete original image layer

Now add any elements of choice – resizing – sharpening – rotating to your liking

I chose to use:

Bow01

Flowers01 – image flipped and rotated to the right 90 degrees

Leaves01

Tag01

When you have everything in place, add a drop shadow to each layer

My settings were_2_-5_50_5_black

Open mask of choice in psp

Add a new layer to bottom of image

Either flood fill with a color of choice, or go to Selections_Select All and C/P a paper of choice from the kit into selection I used paper01

Select none

Layers_NewMaskLayer_From Image_find your mask_apply

Right click on mask layer in layer palette_Merge_Merge Group

Add all copyright info and image credits

Choosing a clear font, add the name of the person in the photo to the Tag01, using nodes to rotate and shrink to fit

Convert to Raster – I did not add a drop shadow to this as I wanted it to stay clear

Add your name in font of choice – Mine was “Before The Rain” at 72_Black

Effects_EyeCandy4000_Gradient Glow_3_25_100_color of choice – (#c381bf )

Sharpen and add drop shadow

That’s it! You now have a wonderful tag to honor your loved one with
