Surf’s Up

 This tutorial was written by me on May 16, 2012, using my own ideas. Any resemblance to others is coincidental and accidental. This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of psp and is written in PSPX.

As always, tutorials are only a guideline. If you don't have the exact supplies, use ones you have or ones you choose.

Supplies:

Tube of choice – This lovely girl is from GarGirl Art and can be purchased at Artistic Reality  Talent– Do not use this same tube without the proper license

Image of choice – I chose one to match my tube from Stock Exchange

Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Xero – Fritillary

Fonts of choice – For the name, I chose “Fluoxetine” and the wording is “PencilPete

Mask of choice – I used Zuzanna_Mask40

To save time, I use the following abbreviations:

C/P = copy/paste

DS = drop shadow

ANL = add new layer

Open template in PSP – Duplicate and close original

Using Magic Wand, click inside Black Rectangle layer

Add a new layer

Open image in psp – C/P into selection

Select None

Magic Wand – select Large Pink Oval – ANL – Flood fill #003a93

Effects – Texture Effects – Blinds_3_50_Black_Both boxes checked

Select None

Effects – Edge Effects – Enhance More

Magic Wand – select bottom right purple circle – ANL – Flood Fill #f6b42f

Effects – Xero – Fritillary_5_30_10_17

Select None

Magic Wand – select Top Left Purple Circle – ANL – Flood fill #ad4d22

Duplicate layer

On duplicate, go to Effects – Texture Effects – Fine Leather_#5b3511_30_40_250_40_4

Select none

In layer palette, highlight the word art layer – Close this layer off by clicking on the eye in the palette

Add a saying of your choice – I chose “Surf’s Up” using PencilPete Font – use the nodes to make the text fit in the white area

OPTIONAL: You can leave the saying that’s there

OPTIONAL: Add a DS or Gradient Glow to highlight text

Highlight the Purple Stars layer – ANL – Flood fill #85fafc – highlight stars layer again 

Selections – Select All – Float – De-Float – right click on flood filled layer – Promote Selection To Layer 

Select None

Delete the flood fill layer

ANL sending it to the bottom of the layers

Flood fill #9ecfff 

Layers – New Mask Layer – From Image – Select your mask from the drop down list

Right click mask layer in palette and Merge – Merge Group

Re-size 85%

Duplicate

On original mask layer – Adjust Blur – Gaussian Blur_5

On duplicate mask layer – Adjust – Add/Remove Noise – Add Noise_40

Apply DS_0_0_100_10_Black to the White Rectangle and the Large Glitter Oval layers

On Top and Bottom Black Rectangle Layers add - Effects – Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow_3_25_100_#9ecfff

DS both layers with same settings as before

On Top and Bottom Black Circle layers, repeat Gradient Glow, changing the color to #ffff0d

Repeat DS on these two layers

C/P the Flower that came with this tube (or elements of choice if using a different tube) and place to your liking

D/S the flower layers

C/P tube of choice and add DS

Using the selection tool, select the bottom edge of the tube

Selections – Modify – Feather_34

Hit delete a few times to soften the edges

Add all correct copyright information

Don't forget to credit the image :)

Add you name in font of choice – I used Fluoxetine_72_Black

Effects – Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow_3_25_100_#39eaeb

Adjust – Sharpen – Sharpen More

DS_2_-5_50_5_black

Save and you’re done!!
